2Pac's "Ambitionz Az A Ridah" tends to elicit god level intangibles rappers never knew possible. That's exactly how Don Q's L.A. Leakers freestyle session with hosts Justin Credible & DJ Sourmilk popped off. Paying tribute to his resident status, the Highbridge rapper showed up sporting a throwback Lakers' jersey, hearkening back to Magic-Kareem & James Worthy on the fastbreak. Hopefully the new Lakers' regime can restore the magic.
After blasting through a 16 on "Ambitionz Az A Ridah," Sourmilk served up Lil Baby's "Exotic," a Tay Keith beat that takes its inspiration from a cardiac arrest. From there Don Q became even more fixate on deliver his punch lines with panache. He began warming to the idea of an audience. Don Q raps, "I told her you buggin' unless you gon' bundle up right on that corner"..then he pauses before confessing to his crimes -- his cataracts get wide with exposure, and he carries on with his freestyle, outlasting the instrumental put in place to give him ordinance.
Freestyles like this put Don Q's relationship with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie into perspective. Boogie is the guy in the click who keeps a burner on him because he fears extortion, whereas Don Q is the type guy who lives for the action.
