"I like my rosé red and my diamonds blue, plus I keep a dime chick like 5x2."

Before he secured his deal with Rick Ross' MMG, Meek Mill was turning heads with the Flamers mixtape series, supported by Grand Hustle's resident spinster DJ Drama on his Gangsta Grillz platform. The Flamers series laid the foundation for the rapid-fire rapping style Meek fans came to love. My personal fave from that era, "Rosé Red," heralded a single voice from a contentious Philadelphia rap climate. The Meek Mill that stands before us today, is no doubt a more complete artist, in every sense of the word. But on Flamers 3, and "Rosé Red" in particular, Meek Mill was at his hungriest, even though he was almost certain to pop at any moment, as it happened a year later when he signed with Rozay.

Years before Drake versus Meek Mill debates were being staged, the current Philly GOAT was forced to contend with a myriad of competitors looking to steal the heavyweight strap from his grasps - lesser known artists than Cassidy and Gillie Da Kid (combined or on a relative scale). In 2010, drinking Rosé was all the rage (still a popular libation in NorthEast, mind you) so Meek Mill made a song about it. It was his way of announcing to the World that he was jumping up a class or two, in weight.

Quotable Lyrics:

Uhh she's a 5 x 2 I like my rose red and my diamonds blue
And she was always on my dick before I met or even knew her
I'll be shitin' on all these hatin' rappers like manure
Spit on it sit on it get on it shift on it
Shorty do some shit on it it's like your life depend on it.
