HNHH compiles the top ten most searched artists on the the site from January to March 2013. Are you surprised by who topped the list? Let us know in the comments below.

We've gone through our stats for the top 100 most popular searches on Hot New Hip Hop, and narrowed it down to ten artists. Songs, album titles, and creative spellings of rappers names were all taken into consideration when compiling the final results. This list gives you the top ten most searched artists on the site, so there shouldn't be too much room to argue, considering the winners are selected based on hard numbers, and are completely user generated. That means if you're unhappy with the results, you're gonna have to work it out amongst yourselves. So without further ado, take a look at the first edition of The Top Ten Most Searched Artists On HNHH.

chris brown

The Top Ten Most Searched Artists On HNHH: January to March

10. Chris Brown- 49,022 Searches

Chris has certainly had an eventful few months, though not necessarily for his music. A lot of the searches for Chris were probably looking for some of his more colorful antics of the past while. His altercation with Frank Ocean was a popular topic, as well as his run-in with a crip outside a nightclub in L.A. On top of ruling the TMZ headlines, Chris did get a chance to get some high profile features in, providing a collabo with Fabolous, "Ready" as well as teaming up with Tyga for, "Fuck For The Road"

meek mill

9. Meek Mill- 55,252 Searches

Meek Mill's beef with Cassidy is a big part of what landed him here. The back and forth string of diss tracks created a lot of attention back in December, and the searches continued into the new year. There are mixed thoughts on who came out on top on this battle, but if it means anything, Cassidy's name only showed up at number 76 in out top searched.

future

8. Future- 57,586 Searches

Future lands at number 7 with a combination of big hooks and baby mama drama. Future gained some attention from a couple of women demanding child support, as well as his gigantic tracks "Fo Real", "Karate Chop (Remix)", and his furious hook on Ace Hood's "Bugatti".

wiz

7. Wiz Khalifa- 68,567 Searches

Wiz has had a big presence on the site in the last couple of months, with the birth of his first child with Amber Rose, as well as some big tracks and features. He lent a verse to the biggest "Molly" anthem yet, as well as contributing the most viewed version of "Started From The Bottom" after Drake's original.

tyga

6. Tyga- 75, 230 Searches

Tyga has kept his name up on the site through some big singles with fellow top ten-ers Chris Brown and Wiz Khalifa, as well as announcing his upcoming album "Hotel California" and it's album cover complete with a #RealTiger.

kendrick

5. Kendrick Lamar- 78,194 Searches

Kendrick is still cruising off his huge debut album "good kid, m.A.A.d. city". The extended hype around the album along with his SNL appearance, and collaborations with 50 Cent and Jay-Z are what land him in the top 5.

4. Lil Wayne- 103,876 Searches

Weezy places on the strength of his single "Bitches Love Me", or is it "Good Kush & Alcohol"? Both titles landed within our top 100 search queries, and the N.O. spitter also contributed some other big tracks such as "Rich As Fuck", and lent a verse to the "Karate Chop (Remix)". The Future track even also spawned it's own controversy over Wayne's Emmett Till line, which was a minor Wayne story compared to his beef with the NBA, and recent health scare.

drake

3. Drake- 107,730 Searches

Drake released two enormous songs in the past few months. "Started From The Bottom", and "5AM in Toronto" are likely to have placed him highly on their existence alone. However, Drizzy also showed up in the "Poetic Justice" video, Wayne's "Love Me", and Snoop Lion's "No Guns Allowed", and with a new album dropping later this year, this may only be the beginning of Drake's presence in 2013.

keef

2. Chief Keef- 107,780 Searches

Chief Keef had a huge presence on the site, despite being locked up for the majority of the period these stats came from. Mainly centered around the events that landed him with a 2 month bid in juvenile detention, Keef ruled the HNHH headlines for quite a while. Between being sued for missed concert appearances, faced a petition for child support from a girl in middle school, and his alleged breakdown in the courtroom. On top of all that, "Love Sosa" also placed within the top 100 searches, so it seems HNHH users were listening to Keef as much as they were reading about his legal troubles.

asap

1. A$AP Rocky- 109,729 Searches

Something tells us A$AP would be happy with his placement on this list. A$AP dropped his debut Long.Live.A$AP in January, and much like his sales of the project, his presence on HNHH has been consistent. Despite the early leak, "Long.Live.A$AP" was still among the top searches in the last few months. The strength of his debut, singles like "Same Bitch", and "Wild For The Night", and his recent emergence as a rising fashion icon, pushed Rocky to the top spot.
