Apple may have struck gold.

Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day may be two of the funniest men on the planet. Day and McElhenney play Charlie and Mac on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, respectively, which has been one of FX's most successful shows. The series features some of the most out of control, crude, and unexpected comedy writing, which can be attributed to the talent of McElhenney and Day. Now, the two men have signed on to create a comedy series for Apple.

According to VarietyApple has ordered a straight-to-series half-hour scripted comedy from Day and McElhenney. The setting of the show will be in a video game development studio, and McElhenney is signed on to star as well as write and produce alongside Day. Video game developer Ubisoft will also produce the series along with the newly created Lionsgate-3 Arts Entertainment studio. Apple is building their catalog slowly in an attempt to create enough original content to compete with Netflix and Hulu. Disney will also be launching a streaming service, so Apple will have its hands full trying to garner enough material. Teaming up with McElhenney and Day was a genius move.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia enters its thirteenth season this fall on FXX.
