Derulo had to back out at the last minute.

Jason Derulo was scheduled to perform the official FIFA World Cup tournament song during this year's opening ceremony. However, the American crooner will not be able to attend the spectacle due to some unforeseen issues.

Derulo planned on debuting his new track Colors at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium in front of 80,000 jubilant soccer fans celebrating the sport's most bombastic series. However, a delayed flight en route to Russia effectively nullified any opportunity for the hitmaker to entertain the sizeable audience with his smooth vocals and commendable dance skills.

Instead, singer Robbie Williams and Russian soprano vocalist Aida Garifullina will now headline the event.

Recently, Derulo admitted that one of the perks of becoming a famous footballer is the ample amount of beautiful women vying for each athlete's attention. He notes how "As a footballer, you get to date all the, hopefully, beautiful women. It’s one of the perks of the job, but I am sure they work hard." Derulo then mentions Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is romantically involved with Little Mix's Perrie Edwards.
