Paris Jackson wants you to put some respect on her dad's name.

The legacy of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is both incredible and tragic. Despite his inner troubles, Michael still gave us some of the greatest songs of all time. However, it seems that his legacy doesn't matter to everyone.

Michael's daughter, Paris Jackson, posted a picture on her Instagram yesterday, showing her wiping a graffiti tag off what appears to be her father's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The post is captioned, "some people have no fucking respect. i understand that there is a difference between the radio emblem and the record, but a name is a name."

Paris is being pretty pragmatic in her conclusion that a star on a Hollywood street isn't representative of a whole person, but to see someone disrespect a dedication to a family member must be hard. The tagging doesn't seem like an overtly political statement, as the message she's cleaning seems more likely to be somebody's handle, rather than a comment on Michael. That being said, all of the other stars seen in the photo were not defaced, and the vandal probably chose their target specifically.

As it turns out, however, that it wasn't even her father's star to begin with. According to ET, the star actually belongs to a radio host of the same name, but it seems to have affected Paris just the same. As Pusha T once said, "my name is my name," even if sometimes it's actually somebody else's.

Update: The original post claimed the star belonged to the musician Michael Jackson, rather than the radio host. The post has been corrected with this new information.
