With Book Of Ryan on the way, Royce Da 5'9" has a busy month ahead of him. Still, that hasn't stopped the legendary rapper from opening up on some recent tidings involving his group, Slaughterhouse. In case you missed it, KXNG Crooked announced that he would be officially leaving the quartet, which also includes Royce, Joe Budden, and Joell Ortiz.
During an Instagram PSA, Crooked addressed his decision, stating ""Peace all. I got a public service announcement. I'm no longer part of Slaughterhouse. I'm no longer apart of the collective. It ain't no beef, it's all love. I wish them dudes nothing but success, I mean that." Hopefully this means we can get some new music from Crooked, who has come a long way since the Death Row days.
Now, Royce has weighed in on Crook's decision, showing the homie respect and support in equal measure. When asked if Crooked's departure means that Slaughterhouse has officially broken up, Royce contemplates. "No. Not officially, I guess we are now. But, Crooked is my brother, man. He's my brother. I support anything he wants to do. Anything... And, it's the same with all the other members... They're family."
As for the current fate of Slaughterhouse, it's anyone's guess. Royce seems more prolific than ever, and Joell occasionally drops music, but Joe Budden is retired. Now, with Crooked gone, it would seem that the Slaughterhouse era has come to an end. It's too bad we never got to hear Glass House. Who knows. Maybe one day.
