Earlier this week, Kanye West stopped by The WGCI Morning Show in Chicago and spoke about the Yeezy sneaker line, including the upcoming basketball sneaker. When asked when fans can expect the sneakers to take the court, Kanye told the hosts, “Definitely this year."
Rumors of a Yeezy basketball sneaker have been ongoing for more than a year now, specifically after Kanye himself laced up an unreleased high-top sneaker during an open run at UCLA.
Official images of the kicks have not yet been revealed but according to Instagram user @Sayitwityakickz, the image embedded at the bottom of this post is a sample of the first Yeezy basketball sneaker. The sole looks to feature the beloved Boost tooling, reminiscent of Kanye's other Yeezy sneakers as well as the Adidas Crazy Explosive which has been worn by the likes of Kristaps Porzingis, Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins and other Adidas NBA endorsers.
