Elton John may not be young, dumb, or broke but he's singing about just that in his latest cover of Khalid's "Young Dumb & Broke." The legendary singer has released a new pack of singles that were recorded at The Colosseum in Las Vegas, dropping the two songs exclusively through Spotify. It's rare to get new music from Elton John. This year, he surprisingly featured on Young Thug's "High" but the 71-year-old spends much of his time scouting other artists. Thugger is one of his favorites but he also has a close eye on Khalid, a singer that took many by storm last year.
"Young Dumb & Broke" was one of the tracks that helped Khalid gain traction as he built a musical empire, offering songs for the broken-hearted youth. Connecting with a large chunk of his fanbase, Khalid attracted Elton John's attention enough that the legend felt the need to lay down his own rendition of "Young Dumb & Broke." Alongside a new version of "Benny And The Jets," Elton provided vocals on the track as Khalid hopped in near the end to hit some vocal runs.
