Plastic surgery is gaining popularity as prices for the surgeries are becoming more affordable and payment plan mandates have been updated to help patients with lower income. Movements that allow women to express themselves without cosmetics, like the #nomakeup trend, have also gained popularity in recent years. The beautiful and talented Tyra Banks is a fan of one, but not so much the other.
Sitting down with People, Banks revealed that she has had some work done herself. While it is no surprise that a world-renown model like Banks got cosmetic surgery, the news is fresh to most of her fans. “Natural beauty is unfair,” states Banks. “I get really uncomfortable when women who are these natural beauties judge anybody who does anything to themselves.”
Banks also touches on her book, Perfect Is Boring, which drops next week. In the memoir, Banks admits to having a nose job done earlier in her career. “I had bones in my nose that were growing and itching,” revealed Banks. “I could breathe fine, but I added cosmetic surgery. I admit it! Fake hair, and I did my nose. I feel I have a responsibility to tell the truth.”
She also continued on to throw some shade towards the no make up movement. “As a model, I needed makeup. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. It leveled my playing field. Gisele, you don’t need it? I do! And we’re both modeling for Victoria’s Secret," she stated.
