The Detroit Pistons have announced that they will be rocking their newly unveiled "Motor City" City Edition uniforms for 18 games this season, starting with a November 23 matchup against the Houston Rockets at home.
According to today's press release, the Detroit Pistons City Edition uniform ties into the culture of Detroit and is based on inspiration from both the automotive culture – Motor City across the front, bold highway-like striping – and also the hard-nosed mentality of the city. The uniform, which has a black base color with gray accents and embellishments, will be accompanied on court with special-edition warm-up apparel.
While many teams around the league will only be wearing their City Edition uniforms for a handful of home games, the Pistons have plans to rock the limited edition threads for nearly a quarter of the season. The new Motor City uniforms will be worn in five home games and 13 road games between November 23 and April 5.
