"It was a money scheme. It was all about money."

Last month, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster was charged with three felonies, including domestic violence, after his ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis flagged down a passerby to call 911 outside a residence in Los Gatos, California. Today, in a San Jose courtroom, Ennis admitted to making it all up.

She had originally told police that Foster "dragged her by her hair, physically threw her out of the house and punched her in the head eight to 10 times." The 24-year old linebacker out of Alabama was arrested on felony domestic violence and weapons charges in February, and officially charged in April.

Ennis testified today that she was angry after Foster tried to break up with her and made up the domestic violence claims as part of a "money scheme" and as a way to "fuck up his career.

"I wanted to sue Reuben. It was a money scheme. It was all about money. I wanted to get him," Ennis testified under oath, according to 49ers reporter Cam Inman.

"I was threatening Reuben that I was going to fuck up his career," Ennis said.

"I told him I’m about to fuck yo shit up, make sure you don’t have a job tomorrow..." Ennis said. "I really wanted to kill him. I was so hurt."

Additionally, Ennis admitted that she had previously served jail time in 2011 for falsely accusing another ex-boyfriend of domestic violence after he broke up with her. Despite the fact that Ennis recanted her story and is now cooperating with the defense, prosecutors have opted to proceed against Foster. Judge Nona Klippen will decide whether there is reason to move forward with a jury trial in July.

In his rookie season with the Niners last year, Foster was second on the team in tackles with 72, despite playing in just 10 games.
