Though 50 Cent has been active getting the strap on Instagram, the legendary rapper may very well be making moves behind the scenes. Yesterday, he took to Instagram to announce that Lloyd Banks was departing G-Unit, wishing his longtime friend and collaborator the best of look in his independence. While some wondered 50's true motivations behind the since-deleted post, recent activity surrounding the G-Unit brand suggests something might be in the works. For example, back in March, 50 Cent posted up with Def Jam CEO Paul Rosenberg, allegedly "catching up." Or so it would seem.
Now, Young Buck has once again fueled the fires of a G-Unit/Def Jam deal. During an interview with DJ Self on Power 106, Buck mysteriously shouted out Paul Rosenberg, playing coy about his motivation. After teasing that his label G-Unit South boasted plenty of Young Talent, Buck proceeded to shout out Rosenberg, saying "50 told him to." Still, it doesn't take a detective to deduce the connection there, though one has to wonder about the extent of the G-Unit/Def Jam connection.
