Teyana Taylor is a few weeks removed from the release of her latest project, K.T.S.E. The singer's latest body of work was the finale of a series of five albums entirely produced by Kanye West. Each week, we received one new project from G.O.O.D Music which started off with Pusha T's Daytona. In a recent interview, Teyana Taylor explained her reaction to being in the middle of the five album roll out.
Teyana Taylor was recently on Ebro In The Morning and explained some of the confusion that surrounded the release of her album, K.T.S.E. As DJBooth pointed out, she explained that the whole five album roll-out was something she knew at the last meeting she had but she was already aware that her and Pusha T's album were coming out around the same time.
"At first I didn't really know that it was going to be the five album thing until we had like our last meeting and we were talking about the albums." She explained. "Once he said his and everybody else, I was a little nervous at first 'cause I was like 'Y'all n*ggas is legends,' you know what I'm saying. I wasn't trying to be in the middle of that. But then, you know, he was like 'nah, it's gon' be crazy, blah blah blah.'"
She continued, "I was kinda just going with the flow. At the same time, I just wanted music out. I didn't care how that shit had to happen. Whether it was a separate rollout, whether it was five albums. I didn't know like ahead of time that it wouldn't be any singles or visuals. I didn't know none of that. I knew it was going to be a five album thing and they wanted mine to be last, he wanted my to be the biggest."
Regardless how it came out, it's safe to say that Teyana Taylor didn't disappoint with K.T.S.E. Although we never got that updated version (which she addresses in the interview), the album was worth the wait.
