Not many have the opportunity to work with a living legend. When the chance arises, you need to jump at it and that's exactly what Canadian rapper Belly did. As he has been rebuilding his sound, releasing the Mumble Rap mixtape last year, Belly is working on his upcoming album and, in doing so, has been working extensively with Jay-Z. Signing in 2015 to XO and Roc Nation, Belly has had a long career in the business, showing an ability to adapt to whatever the current trend is. Recent photos have shown the rapper in the studio with Jay-Z and their track is sounding smooth so far.
Sitting down with Billboard, Belly spoke about what it's been like to work with Hov, detailing his work ethic and drive to always live up to his name. On hitting the studio with Jay, Belly said, "He still works like he's broke. I think that's amazing. We've been in there late some nights. It's dope having him there and being involved with my album." While he does not guarantee a release date for the upcoming project, Belly says that the album will be released sometime this year. With guests The Weeknd, Nav, Ty Dolla $ign, French Montana, YG and possibly Jay-Z, the project is something to look out for.
Belly recently dropped "4 Days" with YG, a bouncy track that features signature production vibes from DJ Mustard. Read the full interview here where he discusses the creation of "4 Days" as well as his friendship with Kevin Durant.
