"SZA hair green so you know it's finna be fire"
Top Dawg Entertainment's rollout remains a mystery, one informed by speculation and carefully planted hints. Sometimes, such hints are false trails, like when Isaiah Rashad "joked" about hearing a brand new Kendrick Lamar album during a studio session. Last year, ScHoolboy Q's album was reportedly ninety-five percent done; we still don't have it. Case in point, deciphering Top Dawg's whims is far from a menial task. Yet that hasn't stopped SZA from setting off the hype train on her own volition.
When asked about the fate of the lost CTRL album, SZA took to Twitter to redirect the hype toward her upcoming album, possibly titled A. The singer previously spoke about the installment as the conclusive chapter of a trilogy, describing the dominant themes as "revenge, rebirth, and Adderall." Now, she has since confirmed (at least, in theory) the album's completion, claiming that "A’s already done." Naturally, such a casual announcement left her fanbase reeling, although the extent of completion has yet to be discovered. Remember, she may be referring to the vocals. For all we know, mixing and mastering might still be on the menu.
That won't stop the optimists among us from assuming the best case scenario: a new SZA album by year's end.
