One of the most elusive musicians out right now has to be The Weeknd. There has been a layer of mystery surrounding him since he burst onto the scene as he focuses the majority of his musical content on sex, drugs, and love. While his style has changed both sonically and visually over the last few years with the artist cutting his trademark hair and switching things up to a more radio-friendly sound, Weeknd continues to grow his brand as he has become a household name. The artist hailing from Toronto is reaching an entirely new crowd with his inclusion on Time Magazine's cover edition of their "Next Generation Leaders" issue, opening up about fame, melancholy and, of course, love.
Abel joins a list of artists, activists, and athletes including Ariana Grande and seven others as they tell their stories for the magazine feature. The Weeknd shared a copy of his individual cover on his social media, rocking a denim jacket and posing from the side. The "Next Generation Leaders" issue of the magazine is a partnership with Rolex, celebrating young people who are creating paths for themselves in the realms of entertainment, music, politics, and activism, with many of the former honorees making a strong impact on the world.
