After last week's controversy surrounding a Philidelphia Starbucks that called the police on two Black men who were sitting in the establishment, the coffee house now has another issue on their hands. A 25-year-old woman in Atlanta found a hidden camera in a Starbucks washroom that was taped under a baby changing station. According to the police report, the camera has 25 videos on it.
"We've learned that the device had about an hours worth of recorded video on it and detectives found 8 to 10 men and women videotaped while in that restroom," an officer told Fox 5. "A lot of it was men using the urinal so they were from the back but there were a few images of women using the toilet, but nothing was clear enough to identify a private area. We do know none of the victims were children."
"We were quite concerned to learn this and are grateful to our customers and partners who took action to involve local authorities. We will continue to support them in any way we can," a Starbucks representative said.
After the Philidelphia Starbucks issue, CEO Kevin Johnson announced that all of their U.S. locations will be closed on May 29th in order to provide racial bias education to nearly 175,000 employees across the country.
