Beyonce turned 37 two days ago, and has since taken a moment to examine her year in retrospect. Penning an open letter titled "Your Bitch At 36," Yonce opened up about the impact of her massive year, addressing her newborn twins, Jay-Z, her music, and more.
“At 36, I became a mother of three, I breastfed twins. I renewed vows with my husband of ten years,” writes Beyonce, in the letter's opening moments. "I came back home to the stage to do Coachella, after pregnancy. Then my husband and I released our album together, Everything Is Love. And we’ve been touring with our whole family around the world, and loving it.” Clearly, her rekindling with Jay-Z played a pivotal role in bringing the legendary singer peace, though the tumultuous fallout of their relationship certainly proved rewarding on an artistic level; we did, after all, receive both Lemonade and 4:44 as a result.
"This year has been monumental for me. I thank God for everyone in my life,” she continues. “Thank you for all the positivity and for the beautiful birthday wishes. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn from my past, living in the present, and surrendering to the future.” At 36, Beyonce has already accomplished so much, the sky truly is the limit. Few stars are as well loved as the former Destiny's Child singer, with her Bey Hive holding it down as the game's most fervently loyal fans.
Congratulations to Beyonce, and we can only hope she continues to hold it down as one of pop culture's most celebrated icons.
