The OVO label consists of a nice selection of artists who have made a name for themselves for their constant Toronto pride and six-like sounds. We're talking, PartNextDoor, Roy Woods, Majid Jordan, Baka Not Nice and more. The two homies that top the list of acts is without a doubt DVSN that's comprised of vocalist Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85. The duo rose to fame after Nineteen85 debuted some tracks on OVO Radio, that sparked a chain reaction of listeners who needed to know what exclusive song they were listening to. The two tracks were what we now know as "With Me" and "The Line."
In a new documentary courtesy of OVO, Daniel and Nineteen85 sit down and talk about their growth as music makers with Drake's right-hand man, Noah '40' Shebib, explaining how the whole OVO Sound label got started in the first place.
"We all grew up kind of figuring out whether or not anybody from the city would ever be able to sort of get on or get in the game," 40 says in the video below. "After me and Drake kind of, like, kicked down that door we felt an obligation to continue to bring more people through it."
