Though his era of commercial success has drawn to a close, there are many who still consider Lloyd Banks to be the punchline king. As such, the former G-Unit rapper has retained a devoted following, despite a significantly slowed-down output in recent years. Now, it would appear that Banks has once again found inspiration, and will be returning to the game with a brand new mixtape. At least, so says 50 Cent, who previously admitted to losing touch with the once loyal G-Unit soldier. That hasn't stopped Fif from taking to Instagram to promote Banks' upcoming project, in a post that reads simultaneously sarcastic and laudatory. The 50 way.
"Check out my boy Lloyd bank$.New Mix tape coming soon," writes 50. "Independence Day, he is doing his own thing and you know it’s gonna be loaded with bars. (Check him out) PLK 🤨get the strap." It would appear 50 counts himself among those who dub Banks the "Punchline King," as revealed by the "PLK" acronym. He also reveals that Banks will be going independent, and thus, bringing his longstanding connection with G-Unit to a conclusion.
It's admittedly somewhat strange to see 50 Cent being so nice, which has raised a few eyebrows in the comment section. Still, 50 and Banks have a longstanding history, and it's cool to see 50 keep the camaraderie alive, even if the G-Unit days have come to an end. As for Banks' mixtape, all we know is that it's "coming soon." Stay tuned for more news on the upcoming project, and check 50's plug below.
