"This is a legacy-bearing moment.”

Michael B Jordan is currently filming his upcoming flick Just Mercy and the movie marks the first film that is working under WarnerBros' new initiative to increase diversity and inclusion in front of and behind the camera. “The WarnerMedia family has introduced an approach that accomplishes our shared objectives, and I applaud them for taking this enormous step forward,” Michael said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times. “I’m proud that our film, ‘Just Mercy,’ will be the first to formally represent the future we have been working toward, together. This is a legacy-bearing moment.”

Michael explained how inclusivity has always been an important factor being "a black man in this business" but it wasn't until Frances McDormand’s 2018 Academy Awards speech where she said two special words - inclusion rider - that really made a lasting impact on Michael. "[...] I realized we could standardize this practice. It allowed me to formally pledge my production company, Outlier Society, to a way of doing business.”

The new policy, that also applies to HBO and Turner, will also work to have women, "people of color, members of LGBTQ communities, folks with disabilities and other underrepresented groups" incorporated more in film.
