According to TMZ, law enforcement sources have informed them that rapper Too $hort won't be charged with felony drug possession after last Wednesday's DUI incident. He was previously cleared of a DUI charge, having blown a .09 (the legal limit being .08), and there don't seem to be any immediate consequences for his running from the cops after they tried to administer a breathalyzer test.
Short was accused of ditching a small amount of meth and/or ecstasy in the back of a police cruiser after being arrested for the DUI, but the rapper insists the dope was left by a previous arrestee. Short's representative has stated that "any assertion that Short was carrying powder is ridiculous! Every rap fan knows Short's into weed" and that "the cop car smelled like vomit and was littered with remnants from prior arrests of the evening."
Whatever the case may be, the East Oakland rapper doesn't have a felony record at this point, and as such the D.A. decided to dump the case on the L.A. City Attorney to be reviewed as a misdemeanor.
