Michael B. Jordan is known for a lot of good movies and series such as Creed, Black Panther, The Wire, Fruitville Station and lots more so to think that the 31-year-old was once going to give up on the whole acting thing is wild. Michael chatted with Vanity Fair for his recent feature and said a castmate from The Wire is the one who encouraged him to keep going.
“I remember when I first came to L.A., and me and my mom, we went to all these agencies trying to get representation and they passed on me — WME passed on me, CAA passed on me, Gersh, all these guys fucking passed on me,” he told the publication, but his attendance at a party where he ran into Andre Royo, who played “Bubbles” on the series saved his career.
“He was stressed out,” Andre said. “He was like, ‘Yo, I’m not working enough, shit is crazy, I think I’m going to go back to New York.’ And he was really on some ‘boo-hoo’ shit. And I was like, ‘Yo dog, are you kidding me right now? You in your early 20s and you’re around motherfuckers trying to feed families who ain’t working. Snap out of it.’”
