Wherever LeBron James decides to sign this summer as an unrestricted free agent he has made one thing quite clear - his family will play an important factor in the decision making process.
According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, LeBron's two sons, 13-year old rising basketball star Bronny and 11-year old Bryce "will be able to voice their feelings on the decision this time." Having said that, Gary Payton recently told Sheena Quick that Bronny has already committed to Sierra Canyon, which is located just outside of Los Angeles.
"His son just committed to Sierra Canyon -- that's where his son is gonna go to school with Scottie Pippen's son and Kenyon Martin's son," Payton told Sheena Quick. "If everybody looks at it -- a son at that age, you don't want to be away from him for that period of time.
"He needs a father during that time ... I think he wants to be around his son a lot, see his son play."
Sierra Canyon High School is located in Chatsworth which is roughly 30 miles northwest of the Staples Center. As we know, the Lakers are on the short list of teams that LeBron will consider this summer and they're the odds on favorite to sign the 4x NBA MVP, according to sports gambling site Bovada.
Following the Cavs' Game 4 loss in the NBA Finals last Friday night, LeBron told reporters the following:
“I have no idea at this point [if this is my last game in a Cavaliers uniform]. You know the one thing that I’ve always done is consider my family, understanding that, especially where my boys are at this point in their age, they were a lot younger the last time I made a decision four years ago. I got a teenage boy, a preteen, a little girl right now that wasn’t around as well. Sitting down and considering everything, my family is a huge part of whatever I decide to do in my career, and it will continue to be like that.”
