Nike has announced plans to release three versions of Michael Jordan's iconic Chicago Bulls jersey at the end of this month, in celebration of the 20-year anniversary of his final game with the Bulls. Additionally, the jerseys tie into the upcoming 10-part ESPN Films and Netflix documentary series, “The Last Dance."
The three jerseys include an Authentic away (as worn for the last shot) as well as Swingman versions of the Bulls’ white and red looks. According to Nike, each jersey is equipped with NikeConnect technology, which will unlock access to select “The Last Dance” content prior to the series premiere in 2019. The Authentic will come in a soft touch box with a clear window and magnetic closure and will retail for $400. The two Swingman jerseys will sell for $120.
"The Last Dance" docu-series, a joint production from ESPN Films and Netflix, will chronicle the rise of NBA legend Michael Jordan as well as the 1990s Chicago Bulls.
According to ESPN Media Zone, the 10-hour series is "anchored by more than 500 hours of never-before-seen footage from the team’s last championship run in the 1997-98 season, “The Last Dance” will have the full participation of Jordan and other key figures from the Bulls’ championship teams, as well as dozens of other luminaries from basketball and beyond."
