Looks like BET has managed to get a hold of Chris Tucker amidst his demanding schedule of filming "Rush Hour" sequels. The comedian is lined up to host the 2013 BET awards in June, taking the reins from Samuel L. Jackson, who handled the duties last year.
The Tucker-hosted awards will take on a new twist this year, introducing "The BET Experience LA LIVE" portion of the show. The festivities will feature performances from Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, J. Cole, Miguel, ScHoolboy Q, The Jacksons, R. Kelly, New Edition, Erykah Badu and The Roots, as well as comedy from Cedric The Entertainer. Beyonce will also kick off the North American portion of her tour at the event.
Another new aspect of this year's awards is the opening of the show to the public and fans. Tickets will be available to anyone who would like to watch the show live, and are available at BET.com.
There's always at least a few surprises at the show, so tune in to BET to see the "Friday" comedian take the stage at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday June 30th. Can't wait to see the blooper reel for this one.
