Although avid gamers are still lamenting the death of couch co-up, the hip-hop world has never been more unified. It seems as if every other day a new collaboration tape is being announced. Last year saw drops from Future/Young Thug, Offset/21 Savage, Big Sean/Metro Boomin, and more. This year, Kanye and Cudi are set to set the summer ablaze, talk of J. Cole and Kendrick has already started courtesy of some cheeky Instagram rope-a-doping from Punch, and the Lil Yachty/Takeoff tape is currently incoming.
In short, the collaborative spirit is flourishing; while they seldom live up to the heights of a solo album, the dual efforts are always appreciated. On that note, Lil Durk recently took to Twitter to send out a bat signal of sorts, aimed squarely at New York's A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. With heart firmly on sleeve, Durk sold it straight, tweeting out "I want to do a tape with @ArtistHBTL." The straight laced approach was met with enthusiasm from A Boogie, who replied with an exuberant "🔥🔥🔥LETS GET IT❗️"
While this hardly marks the official conformation of the project, it seems like the duo have all the intention of making it happen. Fortune favors the bold as they say. Would ya'll listen to this endeavor?
