With all of us still reeling over the five albums we received courtesy of Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music summer takeover, Teyana Taylor's K.T.S.E. is the most recent in our memory. It had been some time since Teyana had dropped a full-length project and with many believing her label has been holding her back from reaching her full potential, she teased some upcoming changes to the existing format of her album. While she promised an updated version of K.T.S.E. late last month, she later revealed that there would no longer be any new tracks added for the time being. With the leak of "We Got Love," perhaps she could be leaning towards an update once again.
With a voice note inserted by none other than Ms. Lauryn Hill, Teyana's new song preaches self-love and the significance of family. Famously giving birth to baby Junie in her bathroom, Yana references the moment in her lyrics, stating that it was just her and Iman Shumpert while she "gave birth on the bathroom floor." The singer tweeted about Lauryn Hill leaving her a motivational message and it actually appears near the end of the song. Hill discusses her definition of success and how happiness is the most important thing to her.
A version of "We Got Love" without Lauryn Hill's message was premiered during Taylor's K.T.S.E. listening party. Since then, fans have been clamoring to find the song online when it didn't appear on the album. Check it out here via Complex and let us know your thoughts!
