Cardi B is currently facing legal issues stemming from an alleged fight she partook in at a New York City strip club on August 29. The entertainer was slapped with a lawsuit and now faces criminal charges for the matter.
The "Bodak Yellow" star was summoned by legal authorities this morning. The meeting resulted in her being charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment and assault.
She left the building with a smile on her face after the legal proceedings but declined to comment. Her lawyer Jeff Kern, however, did have some words to share outside the police precinct in Queens.
"We're aware of no evidence that she caused anybody any harm on that night. We expect that the matter is going to be resolved expeditiously."
Joe Tacopina who is representing the two alleged victims in the case issued a statement as well.
"Cardi B ordered and committed violent assaults against my clients, and is being called to justice for her crimes. Apparently, she thinks her celebrity status puts her above the law, since she has bragged to multiple people and on social media that she orchestrated these vicious attacks. But reality is setting in, as justice does not care whether her name is Cardi B or Carly B, and she will now answer for her crimes."
An arraignment court date has been set for October 29.
