2018 is looking to be one of the best years for rap in recent memory, and it's only just begun. We've already had Cardi B and J. Cole drop their latest projects, and soon we'll be hearing albums from Kanye, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, and Drake, and thats just in the next couple of months!
Well it's time to add one more project to the list, as Quavo and Murda Beatz are teasing a new collaborative project that's set to drop sometime this year.
On his Instagram Story yesterday, Murda shared a picture of a piece of recording equipment, with a taped-on title reading, "Murda Huncho 2K18."
While Quavo, alongside the other Migos, have worked with Murda extensively throughout their careers, this will be the first time that they'll be making any sort of project that will be entirely produced by the Canadian producer. Even more interesting is that not only will this be the first solo tape that Quavo will have ever released, but it will be a first for the Migos as a group as well. While the Migos have branched off on their own before, it was always in collaboration with another rapper; Quavo and Travis Scott, Offset and 21 Savage, and the rumored Takeoff and Lil Yachty tape.
This will be the first opportunity for any of the Migos to demonstrate that they can stand on their own as artists, and if Quavo is backed up by Murda's solid production, this has the potential to be a fire album in the making.
