Looks like Samuel L. Jackson isn't finished with the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet.
Vulture confirms that the upcoming Spider-Man sequel will add the capable talents of Samuel L., who is set to once again reprise his role as Nick Fury. He'll also be joined by the stalwart presence of Cobie Smulders, who has consistently held it down as Shield's Maria Hill. Though Infinity War found Jackson's Fury and Smulder's Hill both dissipating into nothingness courtesy of the Mad Titan, it would appear that they'll ultimately find themselves on the winning side. As will Spidey, for that matter, who previously suffered a tragic "death" in the arms of mentor Tony Stark. Well, guess everyone's getting out of that one unscathed.
Not only will Jackson be gracing the silver screen in Far From Home, but he'll also be starring alongside Brie Larsen in the upcoming Captain Marvel; the period piece will feature a digitally de-aged Jackson, which will hopefully allow ample room for his nuanced talents to shine. As for the Spidey sequel, it would appear that we're looking at a stacked cast indeed. Jake Gyllenhaal has already been confirmed, and Michael Keaton is rumored to make a return as the incarcerated Vulture.
Stay tuned for Spider-Man: Far From Home, dropping July 5, 2019.
