Though Alchemist can look back on a long, storied, and versatile career, the prolific producer has always felt at home dropping gritty street music. It's no wonder he managed to find a couple of kindred spirits in Westside Gunn and Conway, two modern-day purveyors of the rugged and raw sound. Now, on the day of his forty-first birthday, Uncle Alc has come through with a joint effort from the Griselda brothers and none other than ScHoolboy Q.
Taking to an eighties inspired, drug-cartel fever dream, Westside Gunn handles the chorus while Conway and Q spit a verse apiece. The latter is a particularly welcome presence, given his relative absence from all things 2018. "Summertime in Cali serving avalanche," raps Q, "I'm a whale to a fish, n***a, serve quail to a brick." Peep the single now, which features surreal visual accompaniment from Jason Goldwatch.
