It's been a minute since we've heard from Xzibit. Now, at the helm of the Serial Killers collective, X to the Z has once again taken to his sinister purpose. Flanked by B-Real and Demrick, the trio have been hard at work on their upcoming Day Of The Dead project, which is set to arrive on October 31st. Now, we're honored to premiere the debut single "Get Away With It," which finds the trifecta taking to a spooky banger from Nottz; in fact, the vibe harkens back to X's early millennium Man Vs. Machine vibe, with shades of "Symphony In X Major."
"We are extremely proud of the work we have done collectively as The Serial Killers," says X. "B real, Demrick and myself have worked on our individual careers, but when we get together to do one of these projects, it comes together seamlessly."
The chemistry is apparent, as X starts things off with his stalwart growl, a welcome return for those who still hold his discography in high regard. Demrick proves a formidable force in his own right; what he lacks in veteran presence he makes up for in lyrical dexterity. B-Real closes out the murder scene, his iconic voice depicting Biblical imagery and Redman homages.
Be sure to check for Day Of The Dead dropping this Halloween.
Quotable Lyrics
Thankful for what I'm given, and want not what I don't got
Yeah I know seeing me making it was a long shot
Now go get your fuckin' shine box
Ripley, Alien, blow you out the airlock
