The CEO behind Tesla and Space-X is the latest figure to join the #DeleteFacebook bandwagon after some users prompted him on Twitter. After the co-founder of WhatsApp, Brian Acton tweeted "It is time. #deletefacebook" Elon followed up asking him "What’s Facebook?"
From there, another Twitter user challenged him to delete the Facebook profiles for Tesla and Space-X if he's "the man."
"I didn’t realize there was one. Will do," Elon responds and within minutes both profiles were no longer available on the platform.

As many know, this boycott on Facebook comes after last week's reveal that Facebook's user data was hacked and allegedly used to influence the 2016 presidential race in favour of Donald Trump.
Elon was asked on Twitter if he will also delete Instagram, since Facebook also owns the platform. "Instagram’s probably ok imo, so long as it stays fairly independent. I don’t use FB & never have, so don’t think I’m some kind of martyr or my companies are taking a huge blow. Also, we don’t advertise or pay for endorsements, so … don’t care," he replies.
