Avengers: Infinity War is coming to theaters on April 27th, and there's no doubt that it will break the box office. All of Marvel's movies have led up to this. Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Doctor Strange and about 50 other characters will team up to stop Thanos from capturing all of the infinity stones. Although Marvel Studios will be producing films for many more years, they have movies planned through 2022 currently, one main character will be saying goodbye next year. Captain America.
Chris Evans, who has spent the last decade suiting up as Captin America, sat down with The New York Times to talk about his futurte in the Marvel Cinemtic Universe. Evans' contract with Marvel Studios will expire after Avengers 4, which is set to debut next year. In response to the idea of resigning his contract, Evans stated, “You want to get off the train before they push you off.” He has no plans of returning.
Evans has expressed his desire to leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the past. His contract with the studio was supposed to end with Infinity Wars, but he resigned for one extra movie after Marvel pitched him the idea of making the conclusion a two-part story (just like Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and Twilight).
Will Captain America be killed off in a heroic ending? Chris Evans leaving the MCU sure makes it seem like that's the case.
