Big Sean talks about how the collaboration with Drake for "All Me" came about, revealing he wanted the beat too.

Drake's new single "All Me" continues to gain momentum and buzz since it's release early Thursday morning. The verses from Big Sean and 2 Chainz definitely add to its value, as does the production, which was handled by Key Wane.

Key Wane also happens to be an affiliate of Big Sean, and one of his frequent collaborators. In a new interview with MTV, Sean Don reveals that the "All Me" instrumental was almost his, as he explained how the collaboration with Drizzy came about.

"[Drake] records a lot at his house in L.A., and I was recording in L.A. for Hall of Fame, so we'll kick it and exchange music," Sean said on how it came together. "Key Wane had that beat, and it was funny because I wanted to use it for Hall of Fame and [Drake] wanted to use the beat too."

The Detroit native continued,  "I had done a verse to [Key's beat] and didn't know [Drake] did a song to it." He went on to say that the producer Key Wane encouraged him to send his verse to Drake since the T. Dot native really wanted to lock down the record for his own upcoming album, Nothing Was The Same.

"I sent him the verse and [Drake's] like, 'You bodied this shit.' Then we had the song forever," Sean said. "He was like, 'I already did my verse and 2 Chainz did his verse but we've gotta get the right chorus,' and that took a while. But everything happened at the right time."

Sean capped off the interview discussing his verse in particular. "I love doing songs like that, or 'Clique,' different songs that can showcase my ability for different rhyme schemes," Sean said. "I'm having fun and that very first line — that's what you feel like saying to some people. I don't know how many times a day I roll around feeling like, 'Hoe, shut the fuck up!' " That's just real."
