Lil Rel Howery is an actor and comedian who you might recognize from The Carmichael Show or Get Out. His performances have skyrocketed him to stardom, and now Howery is getting a show of his own. FOX debuted the trailer for Rel, a new sitcom starring Howery, on Monday. The trailer begins with Howery on the phone discussing how he got into his current predicament. His wife had an affair with his barber, and then left him with barely anything in his home.
Howery is forced to pick his life back up in the wake of the affair. The trailer reveals the comedian's intentions of getting back into the dating game, while keeping his circumstances under wraps. Unfortunately, his younger brother spreads the word, and gets the entire church congregation speaking about Howery's heartbreak. It looks like things will get worse before they get better for Howery in the new sitcom.
The show is inspired by the comedian's real life. Sinbad guest stars as Rel's father, who seems to be ashamed of his son, but still offers advice on losing someone that you love. Jerrod Carmichael, the comedian and writer behind The Carmichael Show, serves as Rel's executive producer.
