Sometimes, inspiration can come from the unlikeliest source. It's not often that artists draw influence from strange, and occasionally obscure places, and Kanye West is no exception. Frequently one to wear his heart on his sleeve, Ye took to Twitter to praise one of his "biggest inspirations," none other than NBA player turned North Korean "diplomat" Dennis Rodman.
Earlier today, Yeezy shared a heartfelt dedication to "The Worm," writing "Thank to one of my biggest inspirations … always breaking barriers with independent thought." Perhaps Yeezy sees a kindred spirit in Rodman, who has also openly rocked the Trump "Make America Great Again" hat. For those quick to ridicule Rodman, remember that the man has been one of the only Americans to engage in friendly discourse with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. According to Rodman himself, he played a pivotal role in bringing Trump and Kim together, going so far as to weep tears of joy over the unexpected unity.
Either way, Kanye clearly embraces what Dennis Rodman has brought to the table, as evidenced by the myriad fire emojis and praise emojis. It's interesting to note that Yeezy is still very much on his "independent thought" tip, a wave which has put him onto personalities like Candace Owens and Canadian intellectual Jordan Peterson.
