Trippie Redd is making sure Valee gets his credit. Trippie shared some thoughts on Valee's influence in an Instagram story posted Monday, congratulating the Chicago rapper and recent GOOD Music signee on being great enough to inspire imitation. "I see everybody biting your sound," he said, addressing Valee directly. "How's it feel? It should feel amazing, cause you're a fucking GOAT, remember that."
Trippie is likely referencing the similarity of 6ix9ine's flow on his new track "FeFe" to Valee's rhythm on "Two 16s" with fellow Chicagoan ZMoney. He certainly wouldn't be the first person to point out the commonalities in the two songs. It has also been argued that Valee inspired recent flows from Tyler, The Creator, and Smokepurpp.
This week, "FeFe" rose to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it 6ix9ine's highest charting single to date. Valee, so far, has not experienced the same commercial success, which is why some fans and collaborators have expressed frustration over the idea that he is being imitated.
As for Trippie, he's getting ready to release his new album Life's A Trip on August 10th. Earlier today, he shared the track "Taking A Walk." If all is right in the universe, he and Valee will have a new collaboration soon enough.
