Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z are on top of their respective games right now. JT's new album just went platinum, and Jay can't drop a song without the White House weighing in on it. It makes sense then, that the two stars would be able to make a pretty penny off a joint tour. However, tickets for the event have been priced surprisingly high, even for this kind of event, with prices reaching $275 for a non-VIP ticket. You may be able to afford that if you're a rapper, but it seems like the cowboys are having a harder time opening their wallets.
Kid Rock is not pleased with the price of the show, sharing some strong words for the cash grab. “It’s garbage. It’s highway robbery,” he said. “I don’t care who you are. I would consider both of them in the circle of friends in the business, but I don’t agree with it.”
The "American Badass" has been working closely with Live Nation to keep prices for his shows at the $20 mark, and of course never depriving his all-American fanbase to their god-given right to four dollar beers. The arrangement sees him losing a potential $50,000 to $100,000 per night.
The rap-rocker criticized the overall expense of entertainment today, stressing the importance of respecting fans by charging them fairly. “It’s gotten out of hand. The price of concerts, the price of entertainment period. Whether it’s a sporting event, going to the movies, buy a soda there, whatever…I’ve always tried to keep prices [to] what I think are fair. And I’ve always said I’m proud that I can walk around with my head held high and look someone in the eye knowing that I haven’t taken an unhonest dollar from a working man. But how can we make it better,”
