Despite the litany of big rap albums that are set to drop this summer, nothing gets the people riled up like the announcement of a new Kanye West album. While Kanye exiled himself in Wyoming to work on the new album, several rappers and producers were either seen in the area or teased collaborations on their own.
On Wednesday night, Charlamagne Tha God, co-host of Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club radio show, was spotted with Kanye leaving his Calabasas, California, office by paparazzi. While he was there, Kanye confirmed that Charlamagne had, in fact, "heard some shit" off the new album. Now Charlamagne has posted a mysterious photo to his Instagram, with no caption other than a simple period.
The photo shows two men in silhouette against a sunset, and the photo was location tagged in Calabasas, California. One man is seen wearing a hoodie similar to the one Kanye was wearing in their first appearance, so it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the photo is showing Charlamagne and Kanye. Posting the photo in silhouette isn't simply an aesthetic choice, it also raises certain questions. Namely, what exactly is Charlamagne doing there in the first place?
California is a long way to go for someone who hosts a daily radio show in New York, so he was presumably there to talk business. An obvious answer would be an interview, but Kanye's album roll outs tend to be a bit more extravagant than that. Maybe Charlamagne was willing to fly across the country just to hear the album.
