Jeff Sherman of the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook has revealed the projected win totals for all 30 NBA teams in the 2018-19 season and to nobody's surprise, the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors are pegged to win more games than any team in the league.
The Vegas sportsbook currently has the Warriors' over/under win total set at 62.5, followed by the Boston Celtics at 57.5. Last season, the Cs finished with a 55-27 record despite playing without All-Star forward Gordon Hayward for the entire season. The Houston Rockets, who won an NBA-best 65 games last season, are projected at 54.5 wins, the same total as the Philadelphia 76ers and Kawhi Leonard's new team, the Toronto Raptors. The Oklahoma City Thunder, coming off a 48-win year, are also on pace to join the 50-win club, as they are listed at 50.5.
Vegas sees LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on pace with the Utah Jazz to win 48.5 in the upcoming season, slightly ahead of hopeful Western Conference playoff teams like the Denver Nuggets (47.5), New Orleans Pelicans (45.5) and Minnesota Timberwolves (44.5). On the other end of the spectrum, aka teams that are expected to be fighting for the #1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, we have the Atlanta Hawks (23.5), Sacramento Kings (25.5), Chicago Bulls (27.5), Phoenix Suns (28.5), and New York Knicks (29.5).
