Any time The LOX reunite for a seance up the mountain, the meter generally starts to flicker. Jadakiss and Style P are proverbial "all-time greats" in barbershop setting, Sheek Louch is no slouch either. In fact, Dave East is very embodiment of their cutthroat kitchen style, the only difference being that his jumper almost took him out the PJs for good. In hindsight, we're much happier with the path Dave East chose, rather than see his pro-am basketball potential fizzle out.
Like Pee Wee Kirkland before him, Dave East made they refer to in chess as a "Queen Sacrifice," his most important gut check along the way. On "Load My Gun," Dave East gets included in The LOX-D Block setup. Dave's project with Styles P titled Beloved was largely overlooked when it dropped on Friday, much to my dismay. Here's to hoping it gains some much-deserved traction.
Quotable Lyrics:
From the block to the interstate
Get a couple dollars, watch all of the love disintegrate
Bad enough a n***a gotta deal with the inner hate
On 95 south, I'm just tryna get a dinner plate
One false move, I'm comin' back in a bag
The prices is right though, I'm comin' back in a Jag
Razor it to your cheek, you comin' back with a scab
