Papoose and DJ Kay Slay have cooked up a new project that will bring you back to the New York mixtape days. Back 2 The Streets is a new ten track mixtape that blares like something Papoose would have released a decade ago. That isn't a bad thing by any means. The throwback to a lyrically focused mixtape that drips with nostalgic New York energy is welcomed.
Throughout the ten track project, Papoose elects to keep the features light. Dave East and Sheek Louch join Pap for "Da Flow," a high octane single that delivers stadium type energy. Louch and East nearly steal the song from Pap, with each artist delivering memorable verses. "My Sister" finds Pap rapping about women's empowerment, a timely single during the current political climate in America. Dropping street knowledge for his fans, Pap raps, "A woman's more precious than a pearl found deep within the ocean's waters/ the diver who discovers this is richer than a baller."
