Westside Gunn has always displayed a shrewd business acumen. As such, the Griselda founder knows a thing or two about diversification of income. Coming off a memorable set at the Governor's Ball, in which he hung out with Eminem, Royce Da 5'9", and 50 Cent, Westside Gunn has been hard at work setting the table for his upcoming Chris Benoit. In the interim, the rapper has come through with a big win for his fans, particularly those with access to streaming platforms. Should you be seeking his Hitler Wears Hermes mixtape series, look no further.
"It feels so Good to have my HITLER WEAR HERMES SERIES on all platforms Now, make sure y'all support REAL ART," writes Westside, announcing the news via an enthusiastic tweet.
While many have come to embrace the normalization of streaming services, one crucial flaw remains. The mixtape collection is pitifully weak across the board. It's unfortunate given the sheer number of memorable drops in the hip-hop canon. However, the winds of change seem to be blowing in the right direction. Not only has Westside Gunn's series made the cut, but Joey Bada$$ has also promised the arrival of his 1999 tape; prior, Mac Miller's Macadelic found its way into the fray. Hopefully we can look to a future where all the classic mixtapes are made available at a streamer's convenience.
Props to Westside Gunn on this one; be the change you want to see.
