We've come to know will.i.am as the pint sized member of the Black Eyed Peas, who broke into the scene a b-boy and left it a multi-millionaire. Well, Today wasn't his finest hour, for as TMZ reported, will.i.am is being sued by a former employee who claims he fired her on grounds of age discrimination. In the lawsuit she filed this week, Pamela Bailey claims that she and several other employees got the boot from his production company. Quite conspicuously all the employees that got the ax were over the age of 40.
Bailey claims that will.i.am hired her as a personal chef, but eventually tacked on added responsibility, while increasing her wages in the process. She held onto to those responsibilities 'til the bitter end when the mass firings began happening. The work shortage left her, aged 61, without a dependable source of income. She cites the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 in her case against William James Adams Jr.
Will.i.am has kept quiet since the allegations went public. The singer/producer/dancer has not recorded an album since willpower in 2013, and not since 2010 as a member of the Black Eyed Peas. Of course, his musical ventures have paved the way for countless entrepreneurial opportunities, to which many of those employees seem to have been included, hence the social power of a Grammy.
