Spotify wants to make playlist curation even more simple.

Spotify is looking to broaden its horizons and capitalize on its notable selection of playlists, as the music streaming service is testing out a new app called Stations. The app will be available for Android phones and is described as “the easiest way to listen to the music you love. Totally free."

The app is still in its experimental phase and is currently only available to those in Australia. The description for the app listed in Google Play Store explains how there's no typing necessary while the photos show different genres and playlists listed in large font for easy navigation. As free Spotify users already know, advertisements are one of the annoyances you have to endure when listening to your music - as well as little ability to skip songs as much as you like. With Stations, even if you have a Premium account, apparently you cannot skip tracks.

The new app also includes the popular curation of personalized playlists. "As you listen, it learns what you like and creates personalised stations that you’ll love," the description reads.

Only time will tell if this experimental app will make its way to North America and to those users who do not have an Android phone. What do you guys think of Stations?
