The woman has been reported missing.

Police have been on the look out for a woman who was reportedly dragged into a pond by a 12-foot alligator while walking her dogs on Friday morning.

Davie Police Major Dale Engle spoke with the Sun Sentinel about the incident, revealing how divers are patrolling the Silver Lakes Rotary Nature Park in Davie to search for the unidentified woman. Furthermore, an animal trapper employed with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has also been summoned to investigate the scenario.

Engle told the newspaper how the woman's canine companions "won’t leave the pond. One of her dogs got bit by the gator."

Davie Police Detective Viviana Gallinal notes how the 12-foot alligator has been spotted in the pond before, although officials are not completely sure that the creature is at fault for the disappearance. "At this time, we haven’t had any reports of anybody missing other than [a] witness, who saw her earlier and then never saw her again," Gallinal admits.
