After several sequels and remakes over the last 40 years, Michael Myers is set to return in a reboot that welcomes back Jamie Lee Curtis. It seems as if John Carpenter, who created the franchise in 1978, opted out of the years of continuity that Myers has been involved in. This new film will be a soft reboot and direct sequel to the original film.
In a new trailer that was released online, Myers is in prison for his crimes but he is visited by a journalist who brings him his signature mask. Somehow, Myers is able to escape while being transported from the jail, and as expected, all hell breaks loose. Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode is back to defend her suburb town from the horrors of Myers, and this time it looks as if she's prepared. Strode is no longer a scared babysitter, but instead has become an expert marksman. We're not sure if bullets will have any effect on Myers, but it makes for an amazing confrontation. The new Halloween is co-written by Danny McBride and directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Stronger). Check out the new trailer below and watch Halloween when it hits theaters on October 19.
